Vancouver – also known as the NLM Style Guide. However, as several sources have pointed out, this is one style that is NOT uniform and several institutions have slight variations of the basic style and even EndNote may not adhere to the style you are instructed to use.
  • Citing Medicine: the NLM Style Guide for Authors, Editors & Publishers (with links to the individual chapters of the 2061 page document from the National Library of Medicine)
  • Vancouver Referencing Guide, from the Farley Library at Wilkes University – includes several examples of how to cite using this style. This institution uses Citing Medicine as their basis.
  • Vancouver citation style, from the University of Western Australia Library. This institution uses both Citing Medicine: the NLM Style Guide for Authors, Editors & Publishers and AMA Manual of Style: A Guide for Authors and Editors. This library also has several examples of database citations that might be helpful.
